Bait Al Oud: Ramadan Night Concert Vocal

We chant for the Holy Month
As part of the Ramadan programme at Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi, Bait Al Oud offers music lessons in oud, qanun, cello and rebabah. The programme will be concluded by a concert of Bait Al Oud’s vocal section for the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan with the participation of both teachers and student.

Students of the vocal section at Bait Al Oud Abu Dhabi will present a special evening on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan called: 'We chant for the Holy Month'. The vocal students of Bait Al Oud with the participation of the singer Abood Bashir and under the supervision of maestro Dr Fathallah Ahmed, will perform a programme of prayers and songs on religious themes.

The concert offers free entry to all.

Dr Fathulla Ahmed
Dr Fathulla Ahmed is the Arabic singing instructor at Bait Al Oud. He has a Higher Diploma in Music, a Bachelors in TV production, a Masters in TV Music and a PHD in Musical Sciences. He was a member of the Iraqi Orchestra, managed the national radio station’s Iraqi musical band, and then became a professor at the Art School in Baghdad. Dr Fathulla was the Dean of the Higher School of Musical Studies in Baghdad, and a manager of the Arts Department at the Iraqi Culture Authority. He has collaborated with numerous famous artists as a composer, most importantly, with Kathem Al-Saher.

Abood Bashir 
Abood Bashir is a Syrian artist and a professor of oriental singing and music. He studied under a number of renowned elders, including the sons of Ali Darwish, Bakri Al-Kurdi, and other sheikhs in Tajweed and Holy Qur’an reciting. In 1980, he founded the Oroba Youth Club Band and participated in the largest Syrian cultural festivals, such as The Silk Bazaar (Khan al-Harir), Al Mahaba, Capital of Islamic Culture and Al-Basel. He performed as a singer at the Damascus Opera House and was involved in most of its activities. Moreover, he contributed to the Cairo Opera House through a number of concerts managed by Dr Ratiba El-Hefny. He is the ambassador of Syrian traditional song in many foreign countries, especially the USA, with the blessing and adoption of the international director Moustapha Al Akkad.  In April 2017, he joined Bait Al Oud in Abu Dhabi as a teacher of oriental solfège singing.
